WHAT IS MICRONEEDLING?

Microneedling in Newnan makes use of very tiny oscillating needles which create small injuries in the epidermis and dermis. These micro-injuries to the skin encourage a skin response, which is cosmetically beneficial.

WHAT IS THE DOWNTIME?
Only a couple of days of minimal swelling are noted, and a patient could expect residual redness for up to 48 hours. Patients should stay out of intense sunlight for at least a week, but the overall recovery is rapid. Some patients experience slight shedding or peeling of the skin. Makeup can be applied 24 hours post-procedure for those who prefer to wear it.
WHAT OTHER THINGS ARE THE MICRONEEDLING PROCEDURE USED FOR?
The microneedling procedure also can be used to deliver topical medications more effectively. For example, topical Vitamin C can be used immediately after to help treat rosacea or dull lackluster skin. Bleaching agents can be used to treat hyperpigmentation and retinoids for scarring and wrinkles.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE REQUIRED AND HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
At least three to five treatments are required for most skin conditions and these are spaced out every 2 to 6 weeks. Most treatments take under twenty minutes.
IS THE PROCEDURE VERY PAINFUL?
No, not at all. Minimal discomfort is noted if any. Patients describe the sensation as a roughness on the skin, but no intense pain is really noted.
WHAT ABOUT POST-OP CARE?
SkinCeuticals Post Procedure Kit is recommended for 3 days following each treatment. After 3 days of using the above-mentioned kit, a patient can return to their prescribed routine.
HOW LONG DOES THE BENEFIT LAST?
Studies show that the results from microneedling can last for several years in some instances. Repeat treatments can easily be carried out because the treatments are easy to perform, cost-effective, and relatively painless.
WHAT IS RF MICRONEEDLING?

RF micro-needling employs small silicone-tipped needles, which deliver heat energy directly into the skin. This technique is safe for all skin types. The downtime from RF micro-needling is less than that seen with the CO2 laser. Multiple treatments are usually required, and these are performed every three to six weeks.
