Newnan Face and Neck Tightening
HOW DOES THE SKIN TIGHTENING PROCEDURE WORK?
We utilize a laser called Affirm™ which is made by Cynosure™. This device combines a pulse light with fractional 1440 nm Nd Yag laser to help tighten unwanted skin laxity. Treatments of the face neck, chest and hands can be performed. Targeted layers of the skin are treated with gentle heating. This results in diminished skin laxity.
In one study which looked at 10 patients, eight patients achieved a 76% to 100% overall improvement and two patients achieved 51% to 75% overall improvement. Adverse effects were limited to mild temporary redness and swelling which only lasted for several hours after treatment.
WHAT ARE THE PRE-OP CONSIDERATIONS?
It is important to perform a thorough pre-op assessment of patients who desire skin tightening. Factors such as the degree of skin elasticity, history of cold sores, and recent Accutane™ ingestion need to be taken into account.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE REQUIRED?
It usually takes 3 to 6 treatments to see results with the Affirm™ tightening device. Each treatment takes 30 to 45 minutes and requires only topical anesthesia. Treatments are repeated on a monthly basis.

WHAT ABOUT POSTOP CARE?
It is important to stay out of the sun for at least a week following each treatment. Redness and swelling can be controlled with cool compresses and head elevation.
