CO2 Laser Resurfacing Newnan Peachtree City

Our Fraxis Duo™ CO2 laser system is a “gold standard” device. It is a highly sought-after system because it can integrate multiple advanced technologies into one platform. The CO2 laser emits the longest wavelength of light compared to other lasers and can be used on a variety of skin types.

Treatments can be easily tailored to meet the specific cosmetic need(s) of our patients in Newnan. This state-of-the-art device excels at treating a wide range of skin conditions. These include deep wrinkles, pigment abnormalities, blotchiness, acne scars, and surgical or traumatic scars.

It can also reduce unwanted visible fine lines around the eyelids and lips, as well as improve the appearance of skin texture and laxity, pores, stretch marks, nose rhinophyma, warts, and growths such as seborrheic keratosis.

The Fraxis Duo is also versatile with respect to the treatment location. Besides the face and neck, it can also be used on the hands, décolleté, back, arms, and legs.

The platform of the Fraxis Duo allows for the simultaneous use of RF micro-needling with CO2 laser. This combination approach improves the final cosmetic result that is seen.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Fractional CO2 laser takes light energy and fractionates or “pixelates” it into thousands of tiny little columns. These pixels of light energy can be configured to selectively injure a target within the skin itself. During the repair process, new collagen is produced and the regenerated skin appears healthier and more vibrant.

HOW LONG DOES THE CO2 LASER TREATMENT TAKE?

This depends on the area(s) being treated. Usually, most treatments are completed within one to two hours. This will be reviewed with you at your consultation. Please plan to be at our office for a few hours.

Patient
Review

“From the moment I walked in the door until I left … total excellence! I went in with a few spots that had me concerned and turned out that one of them was indeed skin cancer. I had to have it surgically removed and I was very concerned and nervous, being that is was JUST below my eye. The staff was very friendly, personable and above all professional. Dr. Harvey, AMAZING! Very much cares about the patient in front of him. He listens and explains.”

WHO IS QUALIFIED TO PERFORM LASER SURGERY?

Most dermatologists have experience with laser resurfacing surgery, as this is required in their residency. Since results are operator-dependent, it’s important to select a cosmetic dermatologist with experience.

Fraxis Duo laser can be used to:

  • Erase fine lines and wrinkles of the face
  • Smooth and tighten eyelid skin (Madonna Lift)
  • Improve crow’s feet around the eyes

  • Remove brown spots and improve skin color
  • Improve and flatten scars
  • Improve the appearance of stretch marks
  • Repair smoker’s lines

  • Improve female sexual health
  • Improve female incontinence issues

WHAT ABOUT THE PRE-OP CARE?

It is necessary to obtain a pre-op history for the procedure. In some instances, Neurotoxin (Botox) treatments are performed to relax the muscles of facial expression. All retinoic acid products should be discontinued for one week prior to the procedure. Pre-op antibiotics and antiviral medications are employed to minimize the risk of infection. Finally, we ask our patients to have someone drive them to and from the office and to stay with them for the first 24 hours after surgery.

WHAT CAN BE EXPECTED DURING AND AFTER TREATMENT?

Discomfort is usually minor during the procedure. Following skin resurfacing, the skin is red or pink and may be covered with a fine crust. Treated sites must be protected from sunlight during the skin’s recovery process. Once healing is completed, protective sunblock should be applied on a regular basis to achieve the best results from the treatment.

WHAT ARE THE SIDE POTENTIAL RISKS WITH CO2 LASER RESURFACING?

Significant complications are rare, and the risk of scarring is low. Some patients may be at risk for varying degrees of pigmentation loss, particularly with aggressive CO2 settings. Other common side effects include crusting, swelling, pain, and discoloration at the treatment sites. These issues usually resolve in short order.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SEE THE BENEFITS FROM LASER?

It can take up to 1 to 4 weeks to see beneficial results. Final results are seen at 6 months to one year. To better understand your potential results, view laser resurfacing before and after photos in our gallery.

Laser resurfacing is not a substitute for a facelift, nor can the procedure eliminate excess skin or jowl formation. However, by tightening loose skin, laser resurfacing can improve certain folds, creases, acne scars, and pores. This technique is an advance over traditional procedures such as dermabrasion. It can be used in conjunction with other techniques such as chemical peeling, eyelid surgery, liposuction, skin tightening procedures, neurotoxin treatments and filler therapies.

HOW MUCH DOES LASER RESURFACING COST?

The price of CO2 laser resurfacing in Newnan is impacted by several factors. The location of the skin issues, the type and size of the issues, and the medical practice you choose for your treatment all play a role in determining the final cost.
