One of the most important things you need to do during your recovery is monitor the surgical site. This is to ensure that any potential issues or complications are addressed as quickly as possible.

Have you noticed that your surgical site is red or itchy? There are a lot of reasons this may occur. It may be a reaction the the material used to seal the incision or the dressing that covers the incision. This issue can be addressed using topical solutions.

If your surgical site feels warm and is secreting a pus-like substance, it may be a sign of infection. You should have the site examined immediately.

At the Dermatology Institute for Skin Cancer and Cosmetic Surgery, we maintain a sterile environment and do everything in our power to ensure the safety of our patients. If you are in need of professional medical care, contact us to schedule a consultation.
