Noninvasive Cosmetic Procedures are Safe when performed by Dermatologists

A very reassuring article just came out in the Journal of the American Medical Association which confirmed the safety of Laser, Botox™ and Filler Therapy when performed by board certified dermatologists.

The study was a multicenter prospective cohort study evaluating procedures performed with either laser devices, injectable neurotoxins and/or soft-tissue augmentation materials. In their review, 23 board certified dermatologists performed 20,399 procedures with data being acquired over a 3 month period.

The study concluded that adverse events occur in less than 1% of patients (only 48 of 23,399 patients). Most of these were described as minor and transient. Good news for our valued cosmetic patients.
