Be Careful When You Touch Your Eyelids

November 29th, 2017
By Dermatology Institute

Your eyelids are incredibly thin and very sensitive. Because of their delicate nature, it is very important that you be gentle when removing eye makeup, washing your face, or removing any product from your eyelids.

Being too rough or stretching the eyelid skin when removing products or drying the area can cause the skin to stretch, which can lead to sagging skin and the formation of wrinkles. When handling the area, it is important that you use a soft cotton cloth, sponge, or cotton balls, along with a gentle touch. You should also carefully pat the area rather than wipe it in order to avoid any stretching.

The Dermatology Institute is dedicated to helping our patients maintain the health and beauty of their skin. That includes providing excellent care and useful skin care tips. If you need help taking care of your skin, contact us to schedule an appointment.
