Newnan Cheek Lift
WHAT IS THE CHEEK LIFT PROCEDURE?
The cheek lift can significantly reduce wrinkles, sagging skin and the depressed appearance of the upper face. As one ages, the malar fat pads descend. This procedure elevates the cheek frame through fat and muscle repositioning. Incisions are hidden beneath the lower eyelash line (similar to an eyelid tuck or blepharoplasty surgery).
HOW LONG DOES TREATMENT TAKE? WHAT ARE THE PRE-OP INSTRUCTIONS?
The cheek lift procedure takes approximately one and a half hours. Typically, we ask that you discontinue the use of blood thinners for two weeks. In addition, we will prescribe an oral antibiotic, which is started 1 day before your procedure. Arnica may be prescribed to reduce bruising. A pre-op eye exam and history and physical is required before surgery.
HOW MUCH DISCOMFORT CAN I EXPECT?
There is minimal if any discomfort with this procedure. Topical and local anesthesia is all that is used. If you are extremely anxious, we can prescribe anti-anxiety medication. This is taken 1 to 2 hours before your procedure. Pain is described as moderate for the first 24 hours. It can easily be controlled with cool compresses and oral analgesics.

WHAT WILL BE MY DOWNTIME?
Minor swelling and redness quickly disappears within a matter of days. Sutures either absorb or are removed in one week. Plan on a 7 to 10 day healing time.
HOW LONG WILL THE BENEFITS OF THE PROCEDURE LAST?
Surgery benefits can be seen for several years. In our experience, patient satisfaction has been extremely high with this procedure. Neurotoxins, laser, and filler therapies can adjunctively be used to enhance the cosmetic benefit.
